    Rolfing Structural Integration is a sophisticated and effective form of hands-on therapy of soft tissue mobilization. Its goal is to create structural, functional and energetic changes within the body that help free mind, body and spirit from limitations, injury and pain. This scientifically validated and highly respected system of soft tissue manipulation was developed more than 70 years ago by Dr. Ida P. Rolf, Ph.D.  It aims to balance and realign the body by releasing tension and strain through fascial release.

   Rolfing systematically organizes the soft  connective tissue network, known as fascia.  This myofasicial connective tissue in the human structure is key to understanding how Rolfing® works.                

     Connective tissue is the packing material of the body. It both envelops and connects all parts of the body: bones, muscles, organs, and skin, forming a kind of seamlessly interconnected web whose proper tension literally holds your body in place in postural alignment.

    Rolfing therapy by a certified Rolfer releases tension by applying specific pressure and gentle movements to soften and reposition this shortened tissue and allow this web-like structure  to return to an uplifted properly aligned form.
